ServicesFivelands Veterinary Centre provides vet treatment for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, birds tortoises and many other pets. We are able to provide treatment and advice for a wide variety of conditions, as well as helping to ensure your pet's health is kept in top shape. Our aim is to provide a high standard of care at an affordable price. Inevitably treatment can sometimes be expensive and we do recommend pet insurance. Click here for some pointers to finding the right type of policy. The practice employs 6 veterinary surgeons, all fully qualified and with a total of over 60 years experience between us! The vets are supported by 7 fully qualified veterinary nurses, along with 2 trainee veterinary nurses and 5 receptionists. Click here to find your nearest branch. We provide a full range of services from nail clipping through to major surgery, depending on your pet's needs. AdviceIf you need advice about an illness or problem your pet is experiencing, please telephone your nearest branch (click here for details). Our reception staff will be able to help you decide whether your pet needs to see a vet or not. Unfortunately, we cannot diagnose problems over the telephone without seeing your pet, but our nursing staff can give general advice over the phone about minor ailments such as tummy upsets, minor cuts or general care.
ConsultationsIf your pet needs to see a vet the receptionist will make an appointment to see one of the vets. All consultations with the vet are by appointment except in an emergency. A normal initial consultation is for 10 minutes and is strictly 1 pet per consultation. If you have more than 1 pet you want to be examined or you feel there are problems that may take some time to discuss, please mention this when booking the appointment so adequate time can be scheduled for the examination. In most cases treatment can be given at the time of the consultation. If tests or an operation is needed the vet will be able to discuss this with you along with the possible costs.
In-patient care If your pet needs tests, more involved treatment or an operation you
may need to leave him/her with us. Most pets are perfectly happy in our care,
despite many owners concerns at leaving them in a strange place. Our nurses do a
great job of looking after the patients and making sure they are comfortable and
well-looked after. Special diets/ food requests can normally be catered for.
Operations & Tests We are able to perform routine surgery
at all our branches. More complex surgery, tests or where pets need overnight
treatment will be at the main practice in Moseley. Our extensive range of modern equipment allow us to investigate problems with pets using our in-house facilities. Click here for more details....
